Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
  • Valid state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
  • Certification through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
  • Minimum of one year of recent experience, ideally in a school or pediatric environment
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
  • Commitment to ongoing continuing education and professional development

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT)
  • Implement therapeutic activities tailored to students’ learning and developmental objectives
  • Track, document, and observe students’ progress, collaborating with the OT to update intervention strategies as needed
  • Partner with teachers, school staff, and parents to advocate for and meet students’ individual needs
  • Maintain detailed and compliant records in line with state and district protocols
  • Engage in continued learning to stay abreast of best practices in occupational therapy
