School Occupational Therapist - Plainfield, Illinois

With a consistent 35-hour workweek, you'll collaborate closely with educators, families, and fellow professionals to help each student achieve their fullest potential.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid Occupational Therapy license in the state (or eligibility to obtain)
• Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred, especially serving K-12 students
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage a multidisciplinary team
• Flexibility and creativity in adapting therapy to the school environment
• Commitment to upholding ethical and professional standards in service delivery

Core Responsibilities:

• Assess students’ motor, sensory, behavioral, and functional skills to identify needs and set goals
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to diverse learning and developmental needs
• Collaborate with teachers, family members, and other specialists to integrate strategies into classroom routines
• Document evaluations, progress notes, and therapy activities in compliance with district and state requirements
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student plans
• Provide consultative support and resources to school staff to enhance student participation and independence
