Occupational Therapist School Setting in Portland, ME

Qualifications and Experience:

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
• Current state licensure (or eligibility to obtain)
• Previous experience working with school-aged children, ideally in an educational setting
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
• Dedication to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment
• Ability to adapt therapy activities to meet individual student needs

Responsibilities:

• Provide occupational therapy assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for students
• Deliver direct and consultative OT services in accordance with IEP/504 goals
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to maximize student outcomes
• Document progress and maintain detailed records in compliance with district and regulatory guidelines
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team decisions
• Offer recommendations for classroom modifications and adaptive equipment to enhance student participation
