Occupational Therapist School Setting in Portsmouth, NH

Embark on an exciting opportunity to support young learners as a full-time Occupational Therapist for a contract role. This position centers on providing essential maternity leave coverage from January through the end of April in a welcoming preschool environment serving approximately 35 students. You’ll play a vital role in helping children develop the skills they need to thrive both in and out of the classroom.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Active Occupational Therapist licensure and credentials
• Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred
• Familiarity with IEPs and school-based therapy documentation
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner with teachers, staff, and families
• Ability to effectively manage a dynamic caseload and adapt to changing needs
• Compassion, patience, and enthusiasm working with young children

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide occupational therapy services to preschool students, supporting their motor, sensory, and functional skills within the educational setting
• Collaborate closely with teachers and support staff to create and implement individualized therapy plans aligned with students' IEPs
• Track progress and document sessions, ensuring all records are current and in compliance with school policies
• Conduct screenings, evaluations, and assessments as needed during coverage period
• Offer insights and recommendations for classroom modifications and adaptive tools to enhance student participation
• Build strong relationships with students and provide guidance and support to families
