A school-based Occupational Therapist is needed for a contract role for the 2026-2027 school year, focusing on an elementary caseload. This full-time opportunity spans the academic year from early September to mid-June, with some training days scheduled in August (exact dates to be determined).
Candidates will provide specialized occupational therapy services within an elementary school setting, collaborating with educators and families to support student success and independence.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Washington Occupational Therapist license (required by position start)
- Prior experience in school-based OT preferred; consideration for OT in healthcare or home health settings
- Strong understanding of IEP process, pediatric assessments, and therapy documentation
- Ability to build rapport with students, staff, and families
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet diverse student needs
- COTAs are not being considered at this time
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students’ fine motor, sensory, and functional needs
- Develop and implement individualized therapy programs to address IEP goals
- Work with interdisciplinary teams to create engaging, supportive learning environments
- Participate in IEP meetings, contribute to educational planning, and provide progress updates
- Maintain detailed therapy records and documentation in compliance with regulations
- Offer staff education and support strategies for classroom management and student engagement
