Make a real impact by providing essential occupational therapy services to students with multiple disabilities in a home-based setting near Red Hook, NY. This contract opportunity invites you to support two students, each facing unique and complex challenges, enabling them to reach their fullest potential through individualized intervention.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid OT licensure and credentials required for school-based services
  • Prior experience with pediatric populations, preferably within home or school environments
  • Expertise in working with children with multiple disabilities, including developmental delays, cerebral palsy, or hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE)
  • Ability to adapt therapy plans to meet profound support needs—both verbal and nonverbal, ambulatory and non-ambulatory
  • Compassion, patience, and creativity in developing interventions for diverse, individualized needs
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with families and interdisciplinary teams

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver one-to-one occupational therapy sessions: 3x weekly (30 minutes/session) for a student with developmental delays and HIE, and 1x weekly (45 minutes) for a student with cerebral palsy and global delays
  • Design and implement individualized treatment plans to promote fine and gross motor skills, daily living activities, and adaptive strategies tailored to each student’s abilities
  • Address complex support requirements for nonverbal and non-ambulatory students
  • Monitor and document progress, modifying interventions as necessary to maximize student outcomes
  • Provide guidance and strategies to caregivers to support therapy goals in the home environment
