Key Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • Current OT licensure in the state of Virginia (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Prior experience providing occupational therapy services in school settings preferred
  • Ability to design and implement individualized therapy plans
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
  • Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation requirements

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assess students’ functional abilities and develop targeted therapy plans to address their unique needs
  • Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy services in accordance with IEP goals
  • Collaborate with teachers, special educators, and other school professionals to promote student participation and achievement
  • Maintain clear and timely documentation of assessments, progress reports, and service delivery
  • Provide education and support for school staff and families about strategies that promote students' independence and well-being
  • Attend IEP meetings to share insights and help inform educational planning
