Gross Motor Skills Fine Motor Skills Occupational Therapist School Setting - Ridgefield, CT

This role requires two talented individuals to serve as Occupational Therapists on a full-time basis (37.5 hours per week) for the duration of the full school year. You’ll have a chance to support students’ growth, with one position focused specifically on an elementary-age caseload and additional details to come regarding the second opening.

Desired qualifications and experience:

• Hold a valid Occupational Therapist (OT) license with experience in school-based or healthcare settings
• Proficiency in both fine and gross motor skill development and interventions
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and families to support student needs
• Experience with, or certification as, a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in a school setting is a plus
• Strong assessment, documentation, and communication abilities
• Commitment to fostering an engaging and inclusive environment for students

Key responsibilities:

• Provide direct OT services to students, focusing on developing essential motor and daily living skills
• Conduct thorough evaluations and create individualized strategies and intervention plans
• Collaborate alongside educators, support staff, and parents to achieve IEP goals and maximize student progress
• Maintain detailed records, monitor progress, and update intervention plans as needed
• Attend IEP and team meetings, offering expertise in accommodations and modifications
• Foster a positive, encouraging environment to help every student reach their fullest potential
