Occupational Therapist School Setting in Rio Rancho, NM

Step into an engaging contract opportunity as an Occupational Therapist supporting K-12 students. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference within an educational environment near Rio Rancho, NM. Providing services across a diverse student population, you’ll facilitate growth in motor skills, independence, and classroom participation.

This position is for three days per week, beginning as soon as possible and extending through June 28th. Work closely with staff, families, and a multidisciplinary team to deliver effective therapy and create a supportive environment for every learner.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Occupational Therapy licensure for practice in New Mexico
• Background or strong interest in pediatric and school-based occupational therapy
• Familiarity with IEP development, documentation, and therapy planning for K-12
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills to partner with educators, families, and students
• Ability to adapt strategies for various ages and diverse learning needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct OT evaluations, develop individualized plans, and track student progress
• Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy services in classrooms and small group settings
• Provide input for IEP goals and participate in meetings as needed
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to ensure integrated support across the school environment
• Engage with families and caregivers regarding intervention strategies and student needs
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation according to school requirements
