Occupational Therapist School Setting - Rio Rancho, NM

Occupational Therapists are invited to make a lasting difference in the lives of students ranging in age from 3 to 22, working directly on-site with multiple schools throughout the Rio Rancho area. This contract opportunity runs from November 1st to May 27th, 2027, at 32.5 hours per week. You will provide vital OT services to a dynamic and changing caseload, as you cover for therapists on leave. As assignments shift throughout the school year, you’ll use your adaptability and clinical skills to ensure continuous, high-quality care.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

• Active Occupational Therapy license required
• School-based OT experience strongly preferred
• Flexible and comfortable working with diverse age groups and disabilities
• Willingness to travel between school sites as caseload shifts
• Excellent collaboration and documentation abilities
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to supporting student growth

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and address students’ fine motor, sensory, and functional needs
• Deliver targeted interventions centered on IEP goals
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to develop effective treatment plans
• Transition smoothly between assignments as school-based OT staff changes occur
• Maintain accurate, timely records and documentation
• Serve as a key resource for students and educational teams across multiple sites
