Occupational Therapist School Setting in Rio Rancho, NM

Step into a meaningful contract role providing vital occupational therapy services to students ages 3-22. This assignment offers the opportunity to work directly in schools near Rio Rancho, NM, supporting learners with diverse needs at multiple sites from November 1st through May 27th, 2027. You’ll play a key role in ensuring continuity of care as you cover for occupational therapists on leave, with site assignments and caseloads shifting based on current needs.

Your expertise will empower students facing various disabilities to access their education and grow in independence. Each day, you’ll collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to create and deliver effective interventions that make a real difference.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Active OT license required
• Experience in school-based occupational therapy, with skillful management of diverse caseloads
• Comfortable providing services across multiple school sites
• Strong communication and adaptability to meet changing student and site needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver occupational therapy services in accordance with students’ IEP/504 plans
• Assess and document progress for a broad age range, tailoring interventions for developmental and functional needs
• Collaborate closely with teaching staff, administrators, and families to support individualized outcomes
• Flexibly transition between school sites and students according to coverage needs as OTs cycle on and off leave
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with special education procedures

This is a full-time, onsite position offering 32.5 hours per week in a supportive and dynamic educational environment.
