Exciting contract opportunity for skilled Occupational Therapists seeking to make a meaningful difference in students’ lives! This full-time position is available in the southwest Houston area, serving a close-knit cluster of 6 to 7 schools within an assigned zone. The assignment runs from August 11, 2026, through May 26, 2027, and requires on-site engagement throughout the school year.
In this pivotal school-based role, you’ll work with a diverse caseload of students aged 3 through 21. The majority of cases are consultative, while direct OT services typically reach about 30-40 students. Most students are not seen for weekly appointments—appointments rotate every one to six weeks. Lead OTs manage all responsibilities directly, as the district does not provide COTA support for this contract.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Occupational Therapy license in Texas (required)
- Prior school-based OT or extensive COTA experience highly valued
- Skilled at conducting evaluations and attending ARDs
- Strong documentation skills; experience with SHARES or similar software preferred
- Ability to maintain an IEP log and manage records in Excel
- Commitment to full-time schedule (35 hours/week) with typical hours between 8-4 (occasional 7:30-3:30)
- Willingness to travel between multiple school sites within a designated zone
- Must not be a former employee of the district
- District-mandated fingerprinting
Responsibilities:
- Provide evaluations, consultations, and treatment for students with diverse needs
- Manage a rotating caseload efficiently, prioritizing both direct therapy and consults
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation for IEPs and compliance
- Collaborate with educators and multidisciplinary teams
- Travel within an assigned cluster of schools as needed
