Step into a dynamic, school-based Occupational Therapy opportunity in the Houston area, supporting students ages 3–21 across a collaborative educational setting. This full-time contract position requires an enthusiastic OT or experienced COTA ready to make an impact across 6–7 schools within a designated zone, thoughtfully assigned with your commute in mind.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver both direct services and consultations for students with diverse needs across assigned campuses.
- Manage a varied caseload (aiming for about 70 students; 30–40 receiving direct services, remainder consult-only) with schedules that rotate from weekly to every few weeks.
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations, attend ARD meetings, and contribute to the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Accurately document interventions and student progress using SHARES school health software, Onward, and Excel-based logs.
- Prioritize treatment delivery, as there are no COTAs supporting this role—lead OT or COTA will carry full responsibility for assigned students.
Qualifications:
- Active and current Occupational Therapist (OT) license in Texas, or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with multiple years of pediatric or school-based experience.
- Comfortable with travel between campuses; placements are zone-based for your convenience.
- Proficient with school-based documentation software and Excel.
- Must be able to work the full schedule (approximately 37.5 hours per week), typically 8:00–4:00 or 7:30–3:30.
- Previous employees of the district are not eligible for this role.
- Must be able to complete time-sensitive credentialing, including fingerprint clearance.
Experience a rewarding role where you'll make a meaningful difference in students’ lives, with the chance to focus on purposeful therapy in a supportive, team-driven environment.
