Occupational Therapist School Setting in Rumford, ME

Step into an exciting opportunity serving students as an Occupational Therapist on a full-time contract basis. This position offers a rewarding school-based role, providing support to learners in a collaborative environment for the 2026-2027 academic year, from August 20, 2026, through June 9, 2027. With a full 40-hour work week, your expertise will help empower students to thrive in their school routines and meet their developmental goals.

Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

• Active state Occupational Therapy license (or eligibility)
• Prior experience in school-based OT, including assessments, documentation, and direct student intervention
• Understanding of IEP process and special education services
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with teachers, staff, and families
• Strong organizational abilities for managing multiple students and caseloads
• Adaptable, energetic, and dedicated to fostering student independence and success

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver occupational therapy interventions based on students' IEPs
• Conduct evaluations to determine student needs and track progress
• Work closely with educators, aides, and families to establish relevant goals and measure outcomes
• Document sessions, progress updates, and communication as required by the school
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute valuable insights to multidisciplinary teams
• Promote techniques and adaptations to encourage participation and learning across a diverse student population
