School Occupational Therapist - Salinas, California

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners by supporting students’ growth and development for the 2025-2026 academic year. This contract, full-time position focuses on early intervention as you collaborate closely with PreK children aged 3–5. As an integral part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, you’ll employ your occupational therapy expertise to enrich students’ school experience, helping them build foundational skills for future success.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
• Current or eligible California OT licensure
• Previous experience (school-based preferred) with early childhood or PreK populations
• Knowledge of IEP process and documentation
• Strong collaboration skills for working with educators, families, and related service providers
• Compassionate, creative, and adaptable approach

Key Responsibilities:

• Offer direct occupational therapy services to PreK students in group and individual settings
• Conduct screenings, assessments, and create intervention plans tailored to each child’s unique needs
• Participate in IEP meetings and maintain accurate, timely records and progress reports
• Consult and partner with teachers and families to reinforce therapy goals throughout daily routines
• Develop fun, age-appropriate activities that foster students’ independence and sensory-motor skills
• Stay current with best practices by engaging in ongoing professional development
