Occupational Therapist School Setting in Salinas, CA

As an Occupational Therapist supporting a school setting, you will play a crucial role in helping children achieve their educational and developmental milestones. You'll work alongside educators, families, and other professionals to design and implement individualized therapy plans that foster student independence, participation, and success from the classroom to the playground.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
• Valid state licensure (or eligibility) as an Occupational Therapist in California
• Experience working in school-based or pediatric settings strongly preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Skilled in assessment, intervention, and documentation for students ages 3-21
• Collaborative mindset and commitment to multidisciplinary teamwork

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct occupational therapy services to students as outlined in their IEPs
• Conduct timely assessments to evaluate students’ needs and progress
• Participate actively in IEP meetings and collaborate with teachers, families, and other specialists
• Develop creative, practical intervention strategies supporting fine motor, sensory, and self-care skills
• Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and compliance documentation
• Stay up to date with best practices and state requirements for school-based OT services
