This short-term position offers the chance to support students during their Extended School Year (ESY) session, running from mid-June to mid-July. Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • California Occupational Therapist (OT) license (required)
  • Prior experience in school-based or pediatric OT settings
  • Comfort adapting therapy strategies for diverse student populations, including those with IEPs
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working closely with educators, families, and special education teams
  • Ability to conduct evaluations, write reports, and document student progress effectively

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct occupational therapy services to elementary and/or secondary students as outlined in Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Conduct assessments to develop and implement intervention plans tailored to each student's needs
  • Provide consultative and collaborative support to teaching staff to optimize classroom participation
  • Maintain timely documentation and participate in ESY team meetings
  • Empower students to develop fine motor, sensory processing, and self-regulation skills that foster greater independence
