Occupational Therapist School Setting in San Jose, CA

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree (or higher) in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
• Current California state OT license or eligibility for licensure
• Previous pediatric or school-based OT experience preferred
• Comfort working with diverse K-12 caseloads, including students with various needs
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct occupational therapy services to K-12 students in accordance with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and monitor student progress
• Work one-on-one or in small groups to improve students' fine motor, sensory processing, and self-care skills
• Document services, progress notes, and evaluation results in compliance with school and district guidelines
• Participate in IEP meetings and consultations with educational staff and families
• Educate staff and families on strategies and adaptive techniques to support student learning
• Maintain timely and accurate records according to state and federal regulations
