Occupational Therapist School Setting - San Marcos, CA

This role focuses on delivering specialized support for a school-based caseload, including work with medically fragile students, in a supportive educational environment near San Marcos, CA. The assignment is set for 37.5 hours a week from August 18th through the end of December, with a strong likelihood of extension.

Required Qualifications and Background:

• Active Occupational Therapist license in California
• Demonstrated experience in a school-based OT setting, preferably with elementary-aged students
• Familiarity with providing therapy and interventions to medically fragile populations
• Strong knowledge of IEP processes, documentation, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Excellent communication skills to work effectively with staff, students, and families
• Ability to organize caseload and balance priorities in a dynamic school environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assess students’ needs and develop individualized therapeutic plans, tailoring support to each child’s unique challenges
• Deliver direct therapy and consultative services to students, adapting strategies for medically fragile students as required
• Collaborate regularly with teachers, special education staff, and families to ensure integrated care
• Participate in IEP meetings, contribute to progress reports, and maintain thorough, timely documentation of all services provided
• Provide resources and recommendations for classroom adaptations and assistive technology that support student participation and access
• Support staff and family education regarding the needs of students receiving OT services
