This contract position offers the opportunity to collaborate and make a lasting difference in a supportive educational environment just outside San Miguel, CA. As an Occupational Therapist, you will work closely with a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) and serve students across various grade levels during the full academic year.
Key Qualifications:
- Active state licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT)
- Previous experience working in a school-based setting preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaborative skills
- Familiarity with IEP development and implementation
- Ability to effectively support students with diverse needs
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct OT services to students according to IEP goals and established schedules
- Partner with COTA to plan and implement individualized interventions
- Conduct assessments, write evaluation reports, and contribute to IEP meetings
- Maintain detailed documentation of sessions, progress, and outcomes
- Provide consultation to teachers and staff regarding strategies and accommodations
- Engage with parents and educational teams to monitor and adjust support as needed
- Adapt approach to meet the unique needs and strengths of each student
