Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Valid Occupational Therapist license in California
  • Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred
  • Strong understanding of IEPs and education-related assessments
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to adapt intervention plans to meet individual student needs
  • Experience with sensory integration, fine motor, and functional life skills interventions
  • Commitment to maintaining accurate records and adhering to school district policies

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of students’ needs and abilities within the educational environment
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and goals in accordance with IEPs
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff to integrate OT strategies into classroom activities
  • Monitor student progress, adjust interventions as needed, and participate in IEP meetings
  • Educate school staff and families about occupational therapy techniques and adaptations
  • Foster a supportive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages student independence and participation
