A rewarding contract opportunity is available for a dedicated Occupational Therapist ready to make an immediate impact in a school setting. This full-time position, based in Compton, CA, provides the chance to support K-12 students and collaborate alongside a passionate educational team. You’ll work a consistent 40-hour week, exclusively on-site, allowing you to build meaningful, face-to-face relationships with students and staff. The assignment runs from ASAP through the end of the school year, with the possibility to continue into summer and beyond.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active California Occupational Therapy license required
- Experience working in school settings, serving K-12 populations
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and documentation
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of a diverse student population
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations and assessments for students referred for OT services
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that support student learning and development
- Document progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other service providers to create nurturing environments
- Provide direct, on-site therapy to students and support their functional participation in the school environment
- Offer strategies and support for fine motor, sensory, and life skills development
