This on-site position offers a consistent 40-hour workweek and focuses on serving a diverse K-12 caseload. Starting ASAP and continuing through the end of the school year (with possible summer work and renewal potential), you'll play a vital role in fostering success for learners with a variety of needs.
Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist with active and current credential to practice in California
- Previous school-based experience preferred, particularly working with K-12 students
- Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities, working well with students, teachers, and school staff
- Strong understanding of educational and developmental milestones as they relate to OT in schools
- Ability to adapt interventions for a broad range of learning styles and needs
- Dedicated, flexible, and eager to make an impact in an educational setting
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver skilled occupational therapy assessments, interventions, and services to students in K-12
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans and IEP goals
- Consult with teachers, staff, and families to maximize students’ classroom participation and learning potential
- Maintain thorough documentation and progress reports according to school and district protocols
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide expert input regarding student needs and supports
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote student independence and success
- Stay current on best practices in school-based occupational therapy
