Key Qualifications:
- Valid license to practice as an Occupational Therapist in California
- Previous pediatric or school-based experience preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload independently, providing both direct therapy (currently 22 students) and consultative support (13 students)
- Comfortable collaborating with teachers, staff, and families to facilitate student success
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to students’ needs
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services, focusing on enhancing fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and participation in academic activities
- Collaborate with educational staff and parents through consultative services to support generalization of therapy strategies in the classroom and at home
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with school and professional guidelines
- Participate in meetings, IEPs, and multi-disciplinary team activities to ensure comprehensive care for each student
- Travel between assigned school sites, spending 8 hours per day focusing on student success
