Occupational Therapist School Setting in Schaumburg, IL

Make a meaningful impact in the academic and personal growth of middle schoolers as an Occupational Therapist supporting 6th to 8th grade students. This contract opportunity offers 36.25 hours per week starting ASAP and running through May 27, 2027. The schedule aligns well with typical school hours, with your workday from 7:15 am to 3:00 pm (30-minute lunch included), working both at district programs and at one off-campus placement. The caseload includes general education co-taught classrooms as well as self-contained settings, providing the chance to collaborate with a dynamic team and work closely with diverse learners.

Key Qualifications:

• Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program
• Successful completion of required fieldwork/clinical training
• Passing score on the NBCOT national certification exam with verification sent directly to Illinois
• Active OT license in Illinois and commitment to ongoing continuing education to maintain licensure
• Experience working in school settings is highly preferred
• Familiarity and experience with IEP processes
• Strong collaborative and communication skills with students, educators, and families

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group OT services to middle school students in accordance with IEP goals
• Develop and implement interventions to support successful participation in both co-taught and self-contained classrooms
• Provide consultative support and collaborate with teaching teams, other therapists, and families
• Complete required documentation and participate in IEP meetings
• Adapt therapy approaches for both district-based and offsite settings
