The role involves providing vital direct services to students in kindergarten through sixth grade across two full days, with an additional half day reserved for collaborative meetings and assessment responsibilities.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist in Delaware, or eligibility to obtain licensure before the start date
- Prior experience in school-based OT services, particularly working with children in K-6th grade, strongly preferred
- Strong skills in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans
- Knowledge of IEP process, documentation, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver two full days of direct occupational therapy services to elementary students, focusing on improving their access to learning and school engagement
- Reserve a half day each week for meetings with teams, family consultations, student testing, and documentation
- Conduct assessments and contribute to evaluations to inform IEP development and interventions
- Collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to enhance student outcomes and ensure holistic support
- Maintain accurate and timely records of sessions, progress notes, and relevant paperwork
