Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license (OTR/L) in Connecticut
- Previous experience as a school-based Occupational Therapist highly preferred
- Familiarity with IEPs and the ability to develop individualized treatment plans
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to effectively partner with educators and parents
- Creative problem-solving abilities and a flexible approach to adapt interventions
- Comfortable working with diverse student populations, including those with learning challenges or physical disabilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students in compliance with their IEP goals
- Assess students’ functional abilities and recommend accommodations or assistive devices as needed
- Maintain thorough documentation of evaluations, treatments, and progress notes in accordance with school policies
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and related service providers for integrated care
- Educate staff and families on strategies to promote students' independence and participation in school activities
- Participate in IEP meetings, offering expert input and advocating for appropriate supports
