Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

  • Valid Occupational Therapy license (OTR/L) in Connecticut
  • Previous experience as a school-based Occupational Therapist highly preferred
  • Familiarity with IEPs and the ability to develop individualized treatment plans
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to effectively partner with educators and parents
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and a flexible approach to adapt interventions
  • Comfortable working with diverse student populations, including those with learning challenges or physical disabilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students in compliance with their IEP goals
  • Assess students’ functional abilities and recommend accommodations or assistive devices as needed
  • Maintain thorough documentation of evaluations, treatments, and progress notes in accordance with school policies
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and related service providers for integrated care
  • Educate staff and families on strategies to promote students' independence and participation in school activities
  • Participate in IEP meetings, offering expert input and advocating for appropriate supports
