Occupational Therapist School Setting in Silver Spring, MD

Take on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting middle and high school students (grades 8-12, ages 13-21) in a dynamic, year-round educational environment near Silver Spring, MD. This role is ideal for an Occupational Therapist who thrives in school settings and values the chance to provide both direct and consultative services. Wednesdays are structured as half days for students, allowing you dedicated time to focus on documentation, meetings, and professional collaboration in the afternoons. The school requires onsite interviews so you can experience the environment and meet the population before making your commitment—an important step to ensure a positive fit for everyone. This contract is initially for three months, with the potential for an extended or permanent placement.

Qualifications & Desired Experience

• Licensed Occupational Therapist in Maryland (or eligible for MD licensure)
• Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Passion for supporting adolescents and young adults with diverse needs
• Ability to provide both direct and consultative OT services
• Willingness to participate in onsite interview process

Primary Responsibilities

• Deliver OT services to students in grades 8-12, ages 13-21
• Collaborate with educators and other specialists on student success
• Document interventions, progress, and outcomes thoroughly
• Participate in IEP meetings, consultations, and interdisciplinary planning
• Engage in professional meetings and manage caseload effectively
