Occupational Therapist School Setting in Simi Valley, CA

Make a difference supporting students as a dedicated Occupational Therapist for a school-based contract position. This opportunity involves providing OT services as a backfill for the remainder of the school year. The role is conveniently located near Simi Valley, CA, with full-day hours and an immediate need—interviews are being scheduled this week.

Key Qualifications:

• Active licensure as an Occupational Therapist in California (or eligibility to obtain)
• Previous experience working in a school-based setting is strongly preferred
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including educators and support staff
• Strong communication skills for working with students, staff, and families
• Commitment to fostering a positive and supportive learning environment

Position Details:

• Provide direct and consultative OT services to students, as mandated by IEPs
• Assess and document students' needs, progress, and goals
• Develop tailored intervention plans to support student access to their curriculum
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute professional recommendations
• Offer staff training and collaborate with teachers to ensure successful student support
• Maintain accurate and timely reporting and documentation according to school guidelines
• 8 hours per day, servicing students for the remainder of the academic year
