Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as an Occupational Therapist supporting students across seven schools, from elementary to high school, in the Northern Borough area near Smithfield, VA. This role focuses on enhancing student participation, independence, and success in school-based activities by providing specialized interventions and guidance.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Current and valid Occupational Therapist license for Virginia
  • Previous experience in a school-based setting strongly preferred
  • Ability to work with ages spanning elementary through high school
  • Skilled in evaluating and developing individualized OT plans
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • History of collaborating effectively with educators and families
  • Experience supervising or mentoring Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and consultative OT services to students across 7 schools (1 high school, 2 middle schools, 4 elementary schools)
  • Assess students’ needs and create individualized therapy plans in alignment with educational goals
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including teachers, administrators, and families, to support student development
  • Supervise and actively support two COTAs serving all assigned schools
  • Participate in IEP meetings, providing expert input and documentation
  • Monitor and report on student progress, adjusting interventions as needed
  • Contribute to in-service training and educational initiatives for staff as applicable
