Qualifications & Skills:

  • Hold a current Occupational Therapist (OTR) license
  • Previous experience providing OT services in an educational or school-based setting preferred
  • Understanding of IEPs, assessments, and individualized goal planning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for working with students, staff, and families
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong organizational skills and adaptability in a dynamic school environment

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting assessments and evaluations for students referred for OT services
  • Developing, implementing, and updating individualized intervention plans based on student needs
  • Documenting progress, attending IEP meetings, and sharing insights with families and staff
  • Providing both direct and consultative occupational therapy in classrooms and other school settings
  • Supporting access to curriculum by helping students develop functional skills such as fine motor, sensory processing, and daily living competencies
  • Educating staff members and families about strategies to facilitate student independence
  • Maintaining accurate records in compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines
