Qualifications & Skills:
- Hold a current Occupational Therapist (OTR) license
- Previous experience providing OT services in an educational or school-based setting preferred
- Understanding of IEPs, assessments, and individualized goal planning
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for working with students, staff, and families
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong organizational skills and adaptability in a dynamic school environment
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting assessments and evaluations for students referred for OT services
- Developing, implementing, and updating individualized intervention plans based on student needs
- Documenting progress, attending IEP meetings, and sharing insights with families and staff
- Providing both direct and consultative occupational therapy in classrooms and other school settings
- Supporting access to curriculum by helping students develop functional skills such as fine motor, sensory processing, and daily living competencies
- Educating staff members and families about strategies to facilitate student independence
- Maintaining accurate records in compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines
