Step into a pivotal role supporting elementary-aged students as an Occupational Therapist for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. This full-time, contract position is based in the vibrant South Bend region, with on-site work preferred. You'll have the rewarding opportunity to collaborate directly with dedicated educational teams and make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license in the state of Indiana (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience or strong interest working with elementary school-aged children
- Familiarity with school-based therapy services, including IEP development and implementation
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with students, families, and school staff
- Ability to adapt and tailor therapeutic approaches to meet diverse student needs
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting is an advantage
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group therapy to elementary students, focusing on fine motor skills, sensory integration, daily living skills, and social participation
- Conduct assessments and provide input for IEPs in collaboration with educators and families
- Monitor student progress, maintaining thorough and timely documentation
- Advise staff and parents on strategies and accommodations to foster student success
- Support a positive, inclusive, and engaging school environment
