Qualifications & Desired Background:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Active OT license (or eligibility) in the state
- Previous experience in a school-based OT setting is highly preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and goal writing
- Skilled in developing, implementing, and tracking individualized therapy plans
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and documentation abilities
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach in working with children and adolescents
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of students’ abilities and needs
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans aligned with IEP goals
- Provide direct therapy services to students within classroom and pull-out environments
- Consult and collaborate with teachers, families, and other related service providers
- Maintain thorough records, progress notes, and required documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing insight and recommendations for student support
- Educate school staff and caregivers on strategies to promote students’ independence
