School Occupational Therapist - Staten Island, New York

Step into an exciting opportunity supporting young learners in an innovative early intervention setting. This contract role offers the unique chance to partner with a school opening its doors for the very first year as an Early Intervention program. Begin on a part-time schedule with the possibility of transitioning to full time as the need grows, providing vital occupational therapy services to a rewarding caseload.

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

• Holds valid licensure as an Occupational Therapist in New York State
• Previous experience in school-based or early intervention settings strongly preferred
• Ability to collaborate closely with special education teachers and teacher assistants
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage students, families, and staff
• Adaptable and comfortable in dynamic, growth-oriented environments
• Committed to supporting individualized and group therapies as caseloads develop

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct therapy services to early learners, including 1:1 and small group sessions
• Develop and implement individualized therapy plans in alignment with IEPs and IFSPs
• Work alongside SPED teachers and 1:1 teacher assistants to optimize classroom support
• Document session progress, goals, and outcomes as required
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to foster a holistic approach to student growth
• Adjust caseload and working hours in response to increasing program demand
• Engage in program development during this inaugural year, helping shape best practices
