Occupational Therapist School Setting - Sterling Heights, MI

Embark on a rewarding contract assignment as an Occupational Therapist or COTA in a vibrant educational environment near Sterling Heights, MI. With approximately 50 students on your caseload, you’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through tailored interventions and collaborative care.

Qualifications:

• Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
• Experience providing OT services to students in a K-12 setting preferred
• Strong organizational and time management abilities
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working with students, families, and staff
• Flexibility and adaptability to quickly integrate into a new school environment
• Knowledge of relevant assessment tools and best practices in school-based occupational therapy

Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for students, addressing fine motor, sensory, and functional skills
• Deliver direct and consultative services to help students access their curriculum and participate fully in school life
• Maintain thorough and timely documentation in accordance with school and state guidelines
• Communicate progress and strategies with educators and families to support student success
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create engaging and inclusive learning opportunities
• Adapt interventions and materials as needed for varying age groups and needs across the K-12 spectrum
