As a full-time Occupational Therapist, you’ll be supporting students in an engaging and flexible educational environment, primarily within vibrant and welcoming schools near Sterling Heights, MI. While most days will be spent at Cesar Chavez locations, there may be opportunities to work with additional sites, expanding your impact and experiences throughout the academic year.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Michigan Occupational Therapist license required
- Previous experience in school-based OT settings or working with youth populations preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
- Flexibility and adaptability in addressing diverse student needs and changing schedules
- Commitment to fostering inclusion and supporting individualized education plans (IEPs)
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students, addressing a variety of developmental, sensory, and functional needs within the educational setting
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including teachers, other therapists, and support staff—to design interventions that allow students to achieve their full potential
- Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and regularly monitor and report progress
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute therapy recommendations for student success
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with school and state documentation requirements
