Step into a dynamic and meaningful role as a contract occupational therapist supporting elementary students and an Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) classroom for a maternity leave coverage. This position spans from August 24th to November 11th, offering an opportunity to make a significant impact early in the school year. The assignment requires your expertise 2-3 days each week, providing vital therapy services and collaborating with passionate educators.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Occupational Therapy license in Michigan
  • Experience working in elementary or ECSE settings preferred
  • Strong understanding of school-based OT interventions
  • Excellent organizational, collaboration, and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt strategies to address a variety of student needs
  • Previous contract or substitute experience a plus

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students, focusing on fine motor, sensory, and functional skills
  • Complete assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and monitor progress
  • Document sessions and maintain compliance with school and state guidelines
  • Consult and collaborate with teachers, aides, and student support teams
  • Participate in IEP meetings as needed to update goals and share student progress
  • Provide insights and suggestions for classroom accommodations
  • Foster a supportive, positive learning environment that encourages student growth
