School Occupational Therapist - Suffolk, Virginia

Your role will involve collaborating with dedicated educators and supervising two skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) as you collectively serve one high school, two middle schools, and four elementary schools. The primary focus is to empower students with the skills they need to succeed both academically and functionally, fostering greater independence throughout their educational journey.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
• Current Occupational Therapist license valid for practice in Virginia
• Relevant experience in a school-based setting working with students across different grade levels
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to provide oversight, mentorship, and guidance to COTAs
• Excellent communication skills for case management, IEP meetings, and coordination with multi-disciplinary teams

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students ranging from elementary to high school age
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, monitor progress, and document outcomes
• Attend and participate in IEP meetings, contributing expertise to support holistic student plans
• Supervise and collaborate with two COTAs to ensure effective service delivery across assigned schools
• Engage in regular communication with teachers, families, and other professionals to maximize student success
