In this position, you’ll provide vital occupational therapy services two days each week, collaborating with school staff and families to design and implement individualized intervention plans. Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in California
- Previous experience in a school-based OT setting preferred
- Strong understanding of pediatric development and sensory integration
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education program (IEP) goals
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families
- Proactive, organized, and enthusiastic about fostering student independence
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess students referred for occupational therapy and evaluate their needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor therapy plans tailored to each student’s goals
- Document progress and collaborate on IEP teams to ensure services align with academic objectives
- Provide direct treatment, consultation, and support to classroom staff and caregivers
- Educate and train school personnel on strategies to integrate therapy goals in daily activities
- Maintain accurate therapy records in compliance with district and state guidelines
