Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a part-time Occupational Therapist in a dynamic school environment this school year. This contract opportunity is located in the San Jose area, with a start date as soon as possible and continuing through June 11. The position spans two sites and focuses on providing essential therapy services to children with a range of developmental needs.
Ideal candidates will possess the following:
- Valid California Occupational Therapist license, or eligibility to obtain one in accordance with the California Occupational Therapy Practice Act
- At least two years of clinical pediatric therapy experience, specifically with developmental disabilities
- Experience in school-based or educational settings preferred
- Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and engage with families to support student goals
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
- Committed to onsite-only service delivery (this role is not open to teletherapy or hybrid arrangements)
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering direct and consultative OT services to students, adhering to individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Assessing student strengths and needs through standardized and informal evaluations
- Creating and implementing intervention strategies to support students’ academic participation and functional independence
- Documenting services provided and progress toward IEP goals
- Collaborating with educators, families, and related service providers to design holistic support plans
- Providing guidance and resources to staff and families as needed
