Preferred Background and Credentials:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in Alaska
- TYPE C Certification (required for consideration)
- Experience in school-based Occupational Therapy preferred
- AK-Certified candidates are highly desired
- Ability to provide approximately 1000 minutes per week of direct student contact (averaging 16 hours)
- Comfortable working solely onsite (remote/VOCO services are not being considered at this time)
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Key Role Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations for students to determine OT needs
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and interventions
- Deliver targeted therapy sessions to help students achieve educational and functional goals
- Maintain detailed records and documentation according to school and legal requirements
- Partner closely with teachers, staff, and families to optimize outcomes for each student
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute assessment data and recommendations
- Manage a caseload effectively to deliver services throughout the school year, prioritizing student outcomes
