Seeking an experienced school-based Occupational Therapist for a rewarding contract opportunity near Tacoma, WA. This role is designed to support students from Pre-K through 12th grade by providing individualized therapy services and collaborating with educators to help every student thrive. The assignment begins September 2, 2026 and continues through June 17, 2027, with a typical weekly schedule of 37.5 to 40 hours. Daily hours typically run from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, though some variations may occur to accommodate school assignments and meetings.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapist licensure for Washington State (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience with school-aged populations (Pre-K–12th grade)
- Ability to deliver up to 950 minutes of direct therapy per week
- Knowledge of IEP development and progress monitoring
- Proficiency in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Previous school-based OT experience highly preferred
- Flexibility to work across multiple school sites if needed
What You’ll Do:
- Provide occupational therapy services in accordance with IEPs
- Conduct assessments to identify students’ needs and goals
- Develop and implement intervention plans for diverse learners
- Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions and student progress
- Consult with teachers, staff, and families to support student success
- Attend IEP meetings and contribute to team-based decision making
- Adapt service delivery to fit varying daily schedules and assignments
