Occupational Therapist School Setting in Torrance, CA

Work on a contract basis, approximately 20-30 hours weekly, supporting students’ functional independence and participation in an educational setting. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized plans that foster growth and learning.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Occupational Therapist license in California
• Previous school-based OT experience preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families
• Compassionate, patient, and creative problem-solver
• Familiarity with developing and implementing IEP-related OT services

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and assessments for students referred by the school team
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans focused on fine motor, sensory processing, self-care, and classroom participation skills
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and parents to integrate therapeutic strategies into daily routines
• Provide direct and consultative OT services in classroom and pull-out settings
• Monitor student progress, adjust goals, and document results in compliance with relevant regulations
• Contribute to IEP meetings and provide thorough and timely reports
• Foster a positive, supportive environment that encourages student growth and independence
