This part-time role offers the chance to support middle school students as a licensed Occupational Therapist across two primary campuses, with the flexibility to shape your work hours around your own schedule—ideal for those balancing a clinical position or seeking supplementary work.
You’ll manage a balanced caseload of 25 students, providing direct services to 10, with an additional 15 receiving vital consultative support. As the school year unfolds, you may also participate in evaluations, ensuring students have the care and strategies they need to succeed. There is a possibility an elementary campus could be added, nurturing your experience across age groups.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- Active Virginia Occupational Therapy license
- Experience or interest in school-based OT services
- Willingness to complete a VA Department of Social Services background check promptly
- Recent Tuberculosis (TB) test, as required by state guidelines
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families
- Comfort with both direct interventions and consultative OT approaches
- Flexibility and adaptability in managing caseload needs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct OT services to middle school students
- Conduct consultative sessions and collaborate on student care plans
- Participate in team meetings and report on student progress
- Complete periodic evaluations as needed throughout the academic year
- Adapt interventions and recommendations based on individual student goals
