Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students' growth and independence through occupational therapy services. This part-time school-based OT position entails serving students across two middle schools, with the potential addition of an elementary site as the year unfolds. Focusing on both direct intervention and consultative support, you'll collaborate closely with a skilled team and help shape a positive school experience for your caseload.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Virginia Occupational Therapy License required
- Demonstrated experience in school-based OT preferred
- Thorough understanding of providing both direct and consultative OT services to students
- Willingness to initiate credentialing immediately, including the VA Department of Social Services background check and TB test
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
Essential Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services to approximately 10 students, with consultative responsibilities for another 15, totaling a caseload of 25
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to develop and implement effective strategies for student participation and success
- Conduct evaluations as necessary throughout the school year
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation according to district requirements
- Adapt interventions and strategies to meet the diverse needs of middle school student populations
- Attend meetings and work alongside the program director and Lead OT, especially during interviews and onboarding
