Key Qualifications:
- Current licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Experience supporting occupational therapy services within a school setting
- Familiarity with individualized education programs (IEPs) and collaborative team environments
- Flexibility and adaptability when working with students in different age groups and varying classroom structures
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with students, staff, and families
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist in delivering occupational therapy interventions as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist
- Support students in developing or improving essential daily living, motor, and sensory processing skills to facilitate their success in educational settings
- Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and help develop and implement IEP goals
- Document services provided and regularly report on student progress
- Communicate effectively with classroom teachers and other school staff to integrate strategies into daily routines
- Travel between two assigned locations as needed during the school week
