Occupational Therapist School Setting in Tucson, AZ

This contract position offers 40 hours per week, providing the chance to work closely with a diverse student body across two locations, including some self-contained classroom environments.

Key Qualifications:

• Current licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
• Experience supporting occupational therapy services within a school setting
• Familiarity with individualized education programs (IEPs) and collaborative team environments
• Flexibility and adaptability when working with students in different age groups and varying classroom structures
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with students, staff, and families

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist in delivering occupational therapy interventions as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist
• Support students in developing or improving essential daily living, motor, and sensory processing skills to facilitate their success in educational settings
• Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and help develop and implement IEP goals
• Document services provided and regularly report on student progress
• Communicate effectively with classroom teachers and other school staff to integrate strategies into daily routines
• Travel between two assigned locations as needed during the school week
