Occupational Therapist School Setting - University, MS

Qualifications and Experience:

• Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state
• Previous school-based OT experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with individualized education programs (IEPs) and school documentation procedures
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, teachers, and families
• Ability to adapt interventions to meet diverse developmental and academic needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments to identify student needs related to fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and participation in academic activities
• Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans for students in accordance with IEPs
• Collaborate closely with teachers, counselors, and families to ensure integrated support for each student
• Maintain accurate records and progress notes in compliance with school policies and state regulations
• Actively participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and contribute expertise for annual and triennial review processes
• Provide consultation and training to staff regarding best practices for supporting students’ functional skills in the classroom
