A full-time Occupational Therapist is needed for a contract position in Upper Marlboro, MD, providing specialized support within a school setting. This role will focus on supporting students with diverse needs, including those enrolled in Autism programs. The assignment is a leave replacement through the end of the academic year, with final school placements pending, including potential assignments at Suitland Elementary, Rosaryville Elementary, and Capital Heights Elementary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored occupational therapy services to students to enhance their educational participation and success.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with educators, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Support students with Autism spectrum disorders, particularly in schools with established Autism programs.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions accordingly, maintaining detailed documentation.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to coordinated care strategies within the school environment.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Occupational Therapy license with experience in school-based therapy.
  • Proven expertise in working with children, including those with Autism.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with educators and families.
  • Familiarity with school-based therapy regulations and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Commitment to a contract position through the end of the school year.

Location: Upper Marlboro, Maryland, with potential assignments at Suitland, Rosaryville, and Capital Heights Elementary Schools.
