Key Qualifications:
- Current, active OT license in New Mexico (NMRLD) required
- New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) certification required by start date (certification typically processed quickly for proactive applicants)
- Open to licensed Occupational Therapists and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs), with OTs able and willing to supervise COTAs
- Previous experience in school settings preferred, supporting a varied caseload
- Comfortable and willing to travel between several nearby schools, working with students of all ages
- Strong communication, flexibility, and collaboration skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students at multiple school sites
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized therapy plans according to students’ IEPs
- Supervise and support COTAs as needed, ensuring consistent quality of care
- Collaborate closely with teachers, special education staff, and families
- Maintain thorough documentation and adhere to compliance standards
- Participate in team meetings and therapy evaluations as required
