School Occupational Therapist | Vernon Rockville, Connecticut

This part-time contract opportunity runs through the end of the 2026-2027 school year, offering steady, rewarding work. You’ll support students in five dedicated autism classrooms across three school sites, developing hands-on occupational therapy interventions that help each child thrive. Flexibility is offered in filling this role with either one Occupational Therapist (OT) or two Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs), making this an excellent fit for adaptable and collaborative professionals.

Key Qualifications:

• Active OT or COTA license in Connecticut
• Experience with pediatric or school-based occupational therapy, especially supporting students with autism spectrum disorder
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with classroom teachers, special educators, and family members
• Ability to travel between multiple elementary school buildings during the work day
• Creative problem-solving skills and a compassionate, student-centered mindset

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct occupational therapy services to approximately 50 students within specialized autism program classrooms
• Assess students’ functional abilities and develop individualized intervention plans
• Collaborate with classroom teams to tailor therapy to each child’s needs
• Document progress, maintain accurate records, and provide insights for team meetings and IEPs
• Support classroom staff with strategies and tools for student regulation and participation
