This opportunity is perfect for a creative occupational therapist eager to make a difference during the 2026-2027 school year, with a rewarding schedule of 35 hours weekly, Monday through Friday.
You’ll work closely with elementary-aged students, most likely ranging from Pre-K through 5th grade. Expect a dynamic caseload including both general education and special education students, with some self-contained classrooms serving children on the autism spectrum and those with adaptive needs. You’ll play a key role in helping each child develop essential life skills, supporting their participation in school routines, and collaborating with staff and families.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current OT licensure (or eligibility for licensure) in Virginia
- Experience providing services in a school setting preferred
- Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation
- Ability to work effectively with general ed and special ed populations
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Flexibility and adaptability in dynamic environments
Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations, write reports, and develop individualized treatment plans
- Deliver direct therapy services to students across a range of abilities
- Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and families to support student success
- Provide consultation and recommendations for modifications or accommodations
- Maintain compliance with documentation and district procedures
