School Occupational Therapist | Vinton, Virginia

Step into an impactful contract role supporting students’ growth and development as part of a dedicated school team! This opportunity is perfect for a creative occupational therapist eager to make a difference during the 2026-2027 school year, with a rewarding schedule of 35 hours weekly, Monday through Friday.

You’ll work closely with elementary-aged students, most likely ranging from Pre-K through 5th grade. Expect a dynamic caseload including both general education and special education students, with some self-contained classrooms serving children on the autism spectrum and those with adaptive needs. You’ll play a key role in helping each child develop essential life skills, supporting their participation in school routines, and collaborating with staff and families.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
• Current OT licensure (or eligibility for licensure) in Virginia
• Experience providing services in a school setting preferred
• Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation
• Ability to work effectively with general ed and special ed populations
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Flexibility and adaptability in dynamic environments

Responsibilities:

• Conduct evaluations, write reports, and develop individualized treatment plans
• Deliver direct therapy services to students across a range of abilities
• Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and families to support student success
• Provide consultation and recommendations for modifications or accommodations
• Maintain compliance with documentation and district procedures
