Occupational Therapist School Setting in Vista, CA

Your background in school-based occupational therapy will help you partner with educators and families to promote student engagement and functional independence. Experience working in schools is essential, as you'll navigate a diverse caseload and develop strategies that support the unique needs of young learners.

Qualifications:

• Valid licensure as an Occupational Therapist
• Previous hands-on experience in a school-based OT setting
• Confidence and compassion in working with elementary-age students, including those with medical complexities
• Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, administrators, and families
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities:

• Assess students’ needs and develop targeted, meaningful intervention plans
• Deliver therapy services to a varied elementary school caseload, both individually and in small groups
• Monitor progress and maintain thorough documentation to support student development
• Adapt equipment, materials, or activities to help students access their curriculum
• Work closely with school teams to plan and implement IEPs, especially for medically fragile students
• Participate in meetings and provide regular updates to staff and families
