Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting K-12 students as a School Occupational Therapist for the academic year. This engaging assignment runs from August 2026 through May 2027, requiring your expertise two days per week (16 hours total) within a vibrant educational setting. Collaborate with a supportive school team and help students build the skills to succeed both academically and in daily life.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license for South Carolina (or eligibility)
- Previous experience in a school environment is highly valued
- Strong communication skills to partner effectively with teachers, staff, and families
- Passion for working with children and adolescents across a wide range of ages and abilities
- Proficient in assessment tools and electronic documentation
- Flexible, creative, and compassionate approach to therapy
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver individualized occupational therapy interventions to K-12 students
- Evaluate and assess students’ functional abilities, sensory needs, and fine motor skills
- Develop, implement, and periodically review Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with educators to integrate therapy goals into the classroom setting
- Guide and educate staff and families on strategies for student growth and access
- Maintain accurate records and documentation according to school and state guidelines
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to ensure comprehensive student support
